1934 signed "New Deal" created a new democratic alliance of urban labor & farmers.
This had the aim to fight the Great Depression.
It welcomed deficit spending (of 3-4%) which would be funded by tax hikes and provided a new structure of job-creating programs, social insurance, and labor rights, as well as boosting and regulate public transportation.
"Welfare Capitalists" were not against this deal, while others opposed the "New Deal" because they were mostly labor-intensive firms and this would increase their already important cost (labor).
