He wrote a commentary on פרקי אבות and is considered one of the most prevalent commentators on that part of the משנה. Many of his values represented in his works are a result of his תשובה from instigating one of the burnings of the רמב׳׳ם’s books. His views emphasize repentance.

About the Author: רבינו יונה was lived during the 13th century. While his cousin, the רמב׳׳ן, reconciled the works of the רמב׳׳ם, it was רבינו יונה who instigated the public burning of the רמב׳׳ם’s books in Paris in 1233. After realizing how his actions caused a negative extreme, many of the works רבינו יונה authored after that focus on emphasizing repentance.
