6 apr 1917 anni - The United States declared war on Germany. There were 2 main reasons for the US to enter the war. The first is that Germany sunk a passenger ship and killed 100 civilians. The second which is the real reason the US joined was because of the interception of the Zimmerman telegraph. This was a telegraph from Germany to Mexico telling Mexico to attack America. Because of this America felt the need to join the war. This also meant America reinstated the draft for the first time since the civil war.
