One of the main reasons why the United States ended up being involved, was because they had wanted to stop the spread of communism throughout the world. In Vietnam, the war was between the North of Vietnam and the South of Vietnam. The United States was on south Vietnam side and battled against north Vietnam. What was the turning point about this event in history, was on how the US had to back out. This was very interesting because the US was looked at as a major powerhouse that no one else could defeat. Overall I think this was a major turning point in history during this time period.
