The computer game "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" is one of the easiest hype of the Corona era.. many artists have jumped on the trend and staged exhibitions and performances in there.. but one gallery in particular is still running their program and has fully committed to it and has challenged the limitations of the game. The “Museum of Contemporary Art Kittengale” (MoCAK) is run by Julia Maiuri. Julia invites on a regular basis an artist to create a site-specific exhibition.. created exclusively for this medium. And in order to visit the space, one needs an invite or an appointment in-game.
For example, the artist Mark Schoening has created an installation called "The Red Tulip Glitch Memorial", composed of potted tulips and an inscription on canvas: "Never Again". The work actually refers to a code error (a "glitch") from a previous Animal Crossing version, in which a red tulip received as a gift could corrupt the save data.
