The Age of Enlightenment was a spur of the use of rational thinking and reason over logic. This would mostly affect politics, although it would affect other aspects of life, as men like John Locke and Thomas Paine would create new ideals for government. The Two Treatises of Government was a theory proposed by John Locke in which he discusses the natural laws that the government must bid to. This would influence future thinkers like the founding fathers including Thomas Jefferson’s writings in the Declaration of Independence, and further ideas expressed in the U.S. Constitution and government.
