This Primary Source shows how the speaker Roger Williams was very for religious liberty with the colonies. He speaks about how god does not require a uniform religion because that is what causes civil wars. This view is what Rhode Island was built off and would continue to flourish as a colony. It also shows the types of people living in that area at the time and the follower’s viewpoints, it shows how the culture in the United States is very diverse and is one of the reasons the country was able to advance as much as it did.
