1 gen 1912 anni - Moral Diplomacy

Descrizione:

In his 1912 campaign for the presidency, President Woodrow Wilson promised policies following a New Freedom in government involvement as well as a moral approach to foreign affairs. He was Anti-Imperialist, opposing many of Roosevelt's previous policies. His secretary of state, William Jennings Bryan, wanted to show that the United States was respectful of the rights of other nations and helped support democracy across the globe. He hoped to rectify what he saw as previously selfish imperialist policies, granting male suffrage to Filipinos and promising Independence once they had a stable government. He also granted citizenship to Puerto Rican residents, and was committed to limited foreign and military action.
