Descrizione:

An agreement between the Soviet Union and the US. It stands for the Strategic Arms Limitations Talks, and was designed to restain the Arms race.

Significance: The world recognized that nuclear weapons were incredibly dangerous, and if the current amount of nuclear weapons were all used, the world would be destroyed. This was one of the few areas in which the Soviets and America agreed on. Thus, the Arms race slowed down.
