According to Arshinov, on November 23, 1920, several days before
the Reds attacked the Makhnovists, the Kontrrazvedka arrested
nine agents of the 42nd Division, which was trying to establish the
current lodgings of the Batko, members of the staff of the SRPU(m),
and prominent Makhnovist commanders, so they could be rounded
up when Gulai-Polye was captured by Red forces.
