1 gen 1914 anni - Clayton Anti Trust Act

Descrizione:

President Wilson pursued his New Freedom agenda and a strong presidency which was a continuation of President Teddy Roosevelt's position. Wilson attacked monopolies through the enactment of the Clayton Antitrust Act which strengthened the Sherman Antitrust Act, by banning certain corporate operations such as price discrimination and overlapping membership on company boards. These actions by corporations routined undermined economic competition. In addition, labor unions were also exempt from prosecution which was a reversal of the policy of the federal government after the Pullman strike. The significance of this legislation is that Wilson supported and enacted legislation that required greater intervention by the federal government. This paved the way for greater federal support of labor after the Great Depression.
