Description: The fall of the Berlin Wall was a result of mass protest in East Germany. It affected the Cold War significantly because it played a large role in the reunification of Germany. When the Berlin Wall fell, it created many social, economic, and political impacts that seemed to deteriorate the already unstable and weakened government of East Germany. This, in turn, caused Germany to reunite within 11 months of the wall falling.
Significance: It represented the fall of communism in Eastern Europe/ the fall of the iron curtain.
