Teddy, Castor, and Joanna go to the astronomy tower and exchange gifts at midnight. Teddy gives Joanna a Joan Jett poster, and Castor a fantasy book. Joanna gives Teddy a cigarette case, and Castor gives Teddy the book Maurice. They use a spell to stay warm, and take turns reading from Joanna's copy of a Sylvia Plath book.
