After learning that Sarah's child hood friend had been murdered she wanted revenge. Then one day she herd that someone needed to take the duties of a Federal Spy that was executed. She wanted to get revenge and by that she took the position. This caused conflict because she wanted revenge and by this she would need to pretend to be different races/genders/workers/ect. Sarah soon learned she was putting herself in great danger for her life and possibly the army she was working for.
