The EEC (which was created from the ECSC) was the first major, highly inclusive committee for European Unity. It was one of the first economic groups which allowed for extremely quick economic recovery following the war, and allowed larger countries such as France, the Netherlands, and (West) Germany to return as economic powerhouses once again. This also dissipated nationalism as universal economists worked to better the nations as a collective group.
