Archaeological investigated evidence of the irrigation system in Mesopotamia and Egypt, dated by the 6 millennium B.C. Economically speaking irrigation was important because it provided a consistent source of food, helping farmers to meet the world wide demand of eating. It also increased the agriculture production, even in dry lands. For standard of living, this new system allowed societies to sustain a more reliable food, even in unstable parts of the world, it actually leaded to a society evolving that couldn't be possible without irrigation.
