The cotton gin is a technology created by Eli Whitney that positively helped cotton production making it much easier and faster. With this machine the cloth became much cheaper and the cotton had become America’s leading export. The cotton gin was very god thing for the economy but it was very bad for the standard of living because it increased slavery.
