7 dic 1941 anni - Attack on Pearl Harbor
Descrizione:
(Term 3) The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike on the United States organized by the Japanese. 2,403 people were killed and several U.S. ships were sunk.
1. Like 9/11, Pearl Harbor serves as a reminder of the hardships and loss our country has been through, inspiring the people to have pride for their nation that has endured through so much.
2. Because of this declaration of war from Japan, the U.S. proceeded to end the conflict by bombing two Japanese cities. This actually prevented many lives from being lost on both sides, since the war was ended early. If it weren't for all these events that took place, there could have been far more bloodshed.
3. By "awakening the sleeping giant," Japan caused the U.S. to show forth its power. I can only assume that other countries became hesitant to attack the United States and its allies after seeing what was done to Japan. This conflict was a reminder to never underestimate your enemies.
