While scouring Knife Ear Grotto for documents leading to Sai Sahan's location, Gondul and Abnur are met with an apparition of Sai being interrogated and tortured by Mannimarco.

In the interrogation, Mannimarco specifically inquires about the "Brotherband," stunning both Gondul and Abnur alike.

Mannimarco learned of Gondul and his band of soldiers he called the 'Ruby Brotherband' following his role in rescuing the Prophet, Varen Aquilarios, from Coldharbour.

This seemed to be the reason Mannimarco specifically targeted and conspired to kill Rowena, Gondul's lover, as retaliation.
