1 gen 1650 anni - Robert Boyle's new definition.
Descrizione:
In 1650, an English scientist, Robert Boyle, did not believe in the four-element model. He made up a new definition for the word element: "I mean by element simple unmitigated bodies". Our modern definition that we use today is: "a pure substance that can't be broken down into simpler substances". He also believed that air was not an element but it was a mixture. He changed the definition for the word element which helped to develop few changes in the future. His discovery that air was a mixture was later proven true and still true, to this day.
