27 giug 2002 anni - Nauvoo Temple Dedication (Worldwide)

Descrizione:

Second option to Palmyra Temple dedication as the opening of the seventh seal

Rev 7:9
Joel 1:14

The Nauvoo Temple was first dedicated in 1845-6
By October 1848, arsonists destroyed the temple interior. A Tornado demolished the stone in 1850
this temple was the 2nd built in the last dispensation and the 1st to have all the ordinance rooms as we now see in all temples.

It is significant that this temple was the first in this dispensation and then destroyed and then the church didn't rebuild it for 150 years.
Was this rebuilding symbolic?
Was it timed to 2002 as the opening of the 7th Seal?
It was certainly viewed by all nations, kinded tongue and people.
Not only did they watch - but participated in the dedication "as if WE were all literally present" with our white hankerchiefs

At the opening of the seventh seal (sometime around the year 2000, John sees this event

Solemn assembly

Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

the Palymra Temple dedication was the first temple dedication to be broadcast (only to America & Canada, the Nauvoo Temple 2 years later was the first to be broadcast worldwide). When all was said and done, 1.5 million Saints participated in the dedication and Hosanna shout.

From June 27 to 30, there were 13 dedicatory sessions. Saints from 72 countries viewed the dedication in what was the largest satellite broadcast the Church has ever undertaken.
Many more million than the palmyra Temple dedication.

The first dedicatory session and the last were broadcast live via satellite to members gathered at approximately 2,300 locations around the world, and rebroadcasts of the first session were scheduled at other times.

This was the first temple dedication broadcast on an international scale, and its reach far exceeded that of any previous Church satellite broadcast. An expanded satellite system allowed it to go to areas of the world that have never before received any type of Church satellite broadcast, including Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Armenia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia, and Romania.

The dedication of the Nauvoo Illinois Temple is significant because this building is in large part a re-creation of the temple that the Prophet Joseph Smith had located on this bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. The new temple is built on the same site and to virtually the same exterior specifications and design as the original Nauvoo Temple.

Joel 1:14 ¶ Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord,
15 Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number (MILLIONS), of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, (ALL MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH INVITED TO ATTEND VIA SATELLITE LINK)
stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, (THE TEMPLE)
clothed with white robes, (WHITE TEMPLE CLOTHES)
and palms in their hands; (WHITE HANKERCHEIFS)

The handkerchiefs waved during the shout represent the palms not only waved during the triumphal entry of Christ into Jerusalem, but also of the palms waved anciently during the Feast of the Tabernacles. The description below from LDSLiving gives great insight, especially in light of how this shout is used today and was used on the occasion of the Palmyra Temple dedication/breaking of the 7th seal:
“Shouting hosanna can be traced even back to the Hebrew Feast of the Tabernacles. This feast, which began and ended on a Sabbath day, involved sleeping in temporary huts, erected in remembrance of the 40 years that the Israelites wandered in the wilderness. It also celebrated the gathering of nations and deliverance they received at the Lord’s hand. As part of the festivities, on the seventh day, which was sometimes called “the Great Hosanna,” a special meeting was held and shouts of hosanna were given while palm branches were waved.” (source)

10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

This is the Hossanna Shout "Hossanna, Hossanna, Hosanna, to God and the Lamb"
The word “Hosanna” means “Please save us” or Salvation. This shout is synonymous with what is cried in Revelation 7:10.
