Most of my teammates and I wear Nike basketball shoes when we play basketball. This demonstrates economical, cultural/societal and environmental factors of globalization. The economy is impacted because Nike, a company based from the United States, views the world as one entire marketplace. The society is impacted because the Canadian consumers can have more choice of what shoes to buy. Nike has built a great reputation of being one the first choices for buying athletic footwear and many people want to be like everyone else by purchasing their shoes. Finally, Nike shoes are manufactured in third-world countries, like Indonesia, and this demonstrates imperialism. Nike benefits from these countries by using their resources for universal benefit. Also, this causes pollution by the emission of greenhouse gases.
