The researchers assessed 72 children from the Stanford University Nursery and placed them on a natural aggressive scale based on their normal behavior when alone. They split the group into 1/3's and then showed 1 group an adult model act aggressively towards a "bobo the clown doll", showed the second group the model playing nicely with the doll, and the third group didn't get shown anything. The children were then put into a slightly aggressive-arousing situation (they were put in a room with attractive toys, but then the toys were pulled away to be "reserved" for other children), they found that the kids exposed to the aggression of the doll exhibited much higher aggression towards the doll than the other kids. This shows that children learn through obersvation.
