Also known as the Coleman Report, was published in response to one of the largest social science surveys ever conducted in efforts to gather information about the fairness of public education. This had never been done before since standardized tests did not yet exist nationwide. The survey’s reports revealed that the most important predictor of a child’s performance is homelife. It also illuminated what would later become known as the achievement game. What the general public took from this report is that “school’s don’t make a difference”.
