The UK has become the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for widespread use

Elderly people in care homes and care home staff have been placed top of the priority list, followed by the over-80s and health and care staff

Prime Minister Boris Johnson says people should not get "carried away with over optimism" as approval of a vaccine doesn't mean "our struggle is over".

PM says "the scientists have done it" after UK becomes first country in world to approve Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for widespread use, but he warns the tier system remains crucial and people must continue to follow the rules as it will take time to roll out the vaccine. (BBC News)
