The empress Eudocia was the wife of the Eastern Roman emperor Theodosius II, who ruled during 408–450 CE. Although she was a very popular empress, she moved to Jerusalem during the last years of Theodosius' reign after a falling out with the emperor's influential sister, Pulcheria.
