Jamestown was one of the first important settlements in the New World. It was founded in 1607 and became a huge success as a producer of tobacco. This crop brought in a lot of revenue for this colony and had a lot of advantages after this tobacco explosion. More people came to the colony looking for jobs and the economy exploded.
