The Mainland Affairs Council of Taiwan appealed to the Chinese and Hong Kong governments to exercise restraint and to resolve the current disputes through reconciliation instead of arrests, and reiterated that Taiwan government concerned about Hong Kong's freedom and democracy but would not intervene into Hong Kong affairs.
