The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce deeply regreted that demonstration June 12 turned violent. Its Chairman Aron Harilela urged the government to listen to the views and engage in dialogue with the community. Its president Shirley Yuen urged all parties to exercise restraint so as not to undermine business confidence in Hong Kong and its international reputation.
