The above picture is the the completed wall.
Most people didn't want this design because it was done by a woman of Chinese descent, and also because people didn't want to talk about Vietnam.
The memorial was made out of black granite so you can see yourself in the wall. The deeper in the memorial you go, the more in the ground you go too.
