Police were called about 1 a.m. to a Budget Suites about a man assaulting another person, and the man also allegedly chased a security guard with a knife, police said. Officers attempted to deescalate the situation, but the man allegedly threatened them with the knife, and two officers shot and killed Dewayne Bowman.
