Samuel David Mallard was suspected in a string of violent crimes, including homicide, and police converged on the neighborhood around 8:30 a.m. to arrest him and search his home and car. Officers arrived to find Mallard driving the car, and he attempted to flee. Four CCPD officers shot and killed him.
