The Eureka Stockade is when miners rebelled against having to have a license to mine at Ballarat, Victoria. This took place at sunset, with all the miners without and with licences protesting. They were seeking to no longer pay to mine gold. The battle lasted for 20 minutes and 30 people were killed.
