The Rescission of the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans was the accepted on June 15th of 2017 after two years of being blocked and sidelined. This accepted proposal meant that a path was once-again in place to help illegal individuals with a U.S citizen or lawful permanent resident child; this gave them the opportunity to be considered for deferred action as long as they continued to be eligible. DAPA also allowed expanded work authorization for DAPA applicants that were protected by the DACA program but for three years and not for only two. After this memo was signed, it turned into a nationwide policy that aided many individuals.
