Like before, this demo broke the record for the largest update at the time. This was the first demo to be created by the revamped development team.

· Peach, Wario, Ness, Tails, Goku, and Black Mage as new characters
· Black Mage is notably the first unlockable character and the first character to be made from completely custom sprites
· Jungle Hijinx, Yoshi's Island, WarioWare, Inc., Temple of Time, Rainbow Route, Saturn Valley, Casino Night Zone, Central Highway, Chaos Shrine [unlockable], Shadow Moses Island, and Planet Namek as new stages
· Assist Trophy, Ray Gun, Green Shell, Red Shell, Spiny Shell, Bob-omb, Heart Container, Cucco, Mr. Saturn, Energy Tank, and Explosive Tag as new items
· Series symbols for characters and stages
· Stage hazards, along with the hazard switch
· Directional influence and smash directional influence
· A results screen and victory themes for group matches
· The ability to take screenshots on the pause menu
· The ability to export and import save data
