This update featured Naruto as a new character and Waiting Room as a stage (with Test Stage 1 and Test Stage 2 being removed). This update also included a main menu, an announcer (Joshua Tomar), a revamp to the physics engine, and the first character resprites in SSF2's history, with Mario and Kirby both receiving updated sprites.
