After the cessation of public funding in 2014, CEON/CEES was forced to announce a call inviting journals to participate in the indexing costs.
The new business model is based on a partnership between CEON/CEES, as the owner of a journal publishing platform, and journals willing to collaborate with this organization within a specific, innovative framework. CEON/CEES is responsible for web publishing, quality control, evaluation, and dissemination, for which services it collects an annual subscription fee from journals.
