The Berlin Blockade was an attempt by the Soviet Union to limit access to Berlin inside West Germany. The Soviet Union was alarmed by the U.S policy for establishing aid to Germany and other European countries resulting in all rail, road and, canal access to western zones of Berlin. Western powers would airlift supplies to West Berlin to provide aid. This is seen as the first major conflict of the Cold War
