20 sett 2011 anni - "Don't ask, don't tell" policy is repealed

Descrizione:

This policy was signed by President Bill Clinton which banned gay and lesbians from serving in the armed forces (unless they were not expressive of their sexual orientation) and expressed that discrimination was acceptable. President Obama repealed this policy on September 20, 2011, and allowed gay and lesbians to serve in the army without them covering up their sexual orientations.

Significance: This stopped some of the discrimination in society and in the armed forces, allowing for more equality within our country and showing that discimination is not acceptable.
