Lectus, having caught wind of Mandala's presence at Halley's Comet, decides to join the Conclaves with the intent of ascending to the rank of councilmember. Amal sees something in Lectus that he does not like, and refuses to remove him from the Conclaves despite him proving himself time and time again. This forms a long-standing rivalry between Amal and Lectus that often pulls the community apart. Amal is powerless to solve this as he cannot deduce what led him to believe Lectus has malicious intent in the first place. Nevertheless, Lectus becomes a champion of the Conclaves, all the while formulating a plan to undermine it for his own reasons.
