Descrizione:

Sotelo’s death is closely linked with the planned military coup. Sotelo’s death was caused because a popular left-wing member of the Assault Guard, Jose Castillo, was murdered. Members of Castillo’s section murdered Sotelo in retaliation. Sotelo was associated with the Falange and was a deputy for the right-wing Spanish Revival group. Sotelo’s death gave CEDA the reasoning to start the military coup.
