The incident occurred because of the anarchist movement spread across the country. But in January 1933 workers who were apart of the CNT marched the streets wanting and displaying that they were starting a revolution. The march went on until January 11-12 when the Civil guard arrived. Many of the citizens ran while the extremists stayed to fight and resist.
