Marvin Robinson, a 33-year activist and veteran of the movement to save the Quindaro Ruins and create a national park of the site, still practices Frederick Douglas's advice to "Agitate, agitate, agitate". His tours of Quindaro inspire many, and bring about change in the minds of numbers of those who did not understand the significance of Quindaro. His public position in support of human rights have at times angered opposition leaders. Undaunted, Mr. Robinson continues the fight today. Mr. Robinson has traveled the country encouraging self-determination for community organizations among minority and underprivileged groups.
