1 lugl 1950 anni - The US Lends A Hand

Descrizione:

Not letting history repeat itself, President Harry Truman sends US troops to help South Korea. He does not want to see the war become as catastrophic as WWII. The UN Security council all agreed with Truman's idea. At this time there was a Soviet Boycott to the UN Security council; if the USSR had been in attendance they could have vetoed the idea.
Truman did not ask Congress for the customary declaration of war. He instead sent the US troops that were stationed in Japan to South Korea. Those troops were not prepared with the proper weapons or the harsh climate of South Korea. The Allied countries of the UN stepped up and sent new troops and supplies to the struggling American and South Korean troops.
