A landmark case for the rights of English language learners in 1984. Supported the right for a meaningful and equal education. The Lau Remedies came about as an outcome (issued by the OCR but not actually implemented), followed by the Lau Plans, and finally the Lau Regulations in 1980 which brought about the actual implementation of the ruling.
