The dark web then is a reckoning many don’t see coming. All it will take is a heightened public concern for privacy. This could come about from another Edward Snowden—maybe one from one of the giant tech firms now watching us—or another factor that frightens more people into using these encrypted and anonymous browsers. When this happens, this doesn’t mean the dark web will necessarily snuff out the Internet as we know it. It just means it will give us another option as the Web continues to evolve.
