1 gen 1546 anni - Tycho Brahe

Descrizione:

1546-1601
Tycho Brahe was an incredibly influential observational ‘naked-eye’ astronomer who was of noble Danish descent and worked as the official astronomer for the likes of the Danish king, the king of Prague and most notably the Holy Roman Emperor. His highly accurate astronomical measurements were used by the likes of Kepler later on to support the copernican system. He himself created a new system called the Tychonic system, which combined the heliocentric model and the geocentric model to create a hybrid model that had the geometrical benefits of the copernican system and the philosophical benefits of the ptolemaic system. Tycho greatly influenced many other astronomers of the time and many years down the road, with many adopting his tychonic model of the universe as the one that made the most sense. It is very interesting to see how he both upheld the classic views of the universe that were influenced by religion but also laid the groundwork for further exploration of the heliocentric model by men such as Kepler. -Jordan Johl
