Police say Michael Nathan Trujillo, 27, was driving his vehicle at 80 miles per hour on Spruce Avenue when he ran a red light and crashed into a 1995 Chevrolet pickup. 26-year-old Naomi Brandi Flores of Las Cruces, who was riding in the backseat of the pickup, was killed in the crash. Trujillo was charged with one count of homicide by vehicle and one count of causing great bodily injury by vehicle.
