The Wright brothers successfully flew their first airplane on December 17, 1903. Airplanes have a wide range of purposes, including but not limited to recreation, transportation of goods and people, military, and research. The airplane has greatly increased global interconnectedness via its invention. People were able to travel to places faster. International travel was also much easier. This allowed for the spread of ideas internationally. People could work on an international scale regarding their innovations, greatly affecting the rate at which innovations were arising. It also improved computing innovations based on the cutting edge technology used to make the airplane work.
