Introduced in 2013, USB 3 has faster transfer data speeds than USB 2.0. Can easily be noticed by the blue coating in the A end. It also has an end that allows for data speeds in hard drives. Was also introduced in 2013 on the Note 3 as the charger and allows for backwards compatibility.
